Marquette In Action Next At DePaul Tuesday Night

The Marquette University men's basketball team (11-13, 6-11 BIG EAST) dropped an 80-62 decision at UConn (12-6, 9-6 BIG EAST) Saturday afternoon in BIG EAST Conference action from Gampel Pavilion.

Freshman Justin Lewis, who missed most of the previous seven games with an ankle injury, returned to action and finished with 14 points off the bench. Classmate Dawson Garcia chipped in 18 points and eight rebounds, but the team struggled from the field all afternoon, shooting just 39.3 percent from the floor as a team.

Marquette trailed 38-21 at the intermission after shooting just 29.6 percent from the floor in the first half. UConn meanwhile was able to connect on nearly 52 percent of its opportunities from the field.

The Golden Eagles continue the season on Tuesday, March 2 when the team wraps up its season-long, six-game road swing at DePaul at 8 p.m. CT.
