Golden Eagles return home to host Seton Hall at 12 p.m. CT on Sunday
The Marquette University women's soccer team (6-4-0, 2-1-0 BIG EAST) collected its second-straight BIG EAST Conference road victory on Thursday night with a 1-0 decision at Creighton (6-4-2, 0-2-1 BIG EAST).
Marquette claimed a 3-1 win at Villanova on Sunday afternoon to open the road swing.
The victory was the first for the Golden Eagles at Creighton since the 2013 campaign and only the second in program history. MU now leads the all-time series 6-5-3.
"Extremely proud of the total team effort it took tonight and the belief we had in each other," head coach Frank Pelaez said. "Creighton is a fantastic team with a number of talented players and we are happy to come home with three points."
Senior Katrina Wetherell opened the night's scoring at the 4:20 mark, heading home a service from classmate Lauren Sprecher at the far post from six yards out. The score was the eighth of Wetherell's career and personal single-season high third marker. She found the back of the net twice in the season-opening win against Central Michigan.
Netminder Mikki Easter finished with three saves and Marquette recorded its fourth shutout of the season.
