Golden Eagles host No. 20/18 Seton Hall Saturday
MILWAUKEE - Marquette University men's basketball defeated the DePaul Blue Demons, 87-76, on Tuesday night at Fiserv Forum.
Greg Elliott led the Golden Eagles (11-6, 3-3 BIG EAST) with a career-high 25 points and season-high five assists.Â
Four other players added double-digit scoring for Marquette, including 16 from Darryl Morsell and 11 for Oso Ighodaro off the bench.
For DePaul (9-6, 0-5 BIG EAST), Javon Freeman-Liberty paced the team with 24 points and 10 rebounds, and Yor Anei also totaled a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds.
MU assisted on 27 of its 34 made shots in the contest, marking a team high on the season. The Golden Eagles are averaging 25 helpers per game over the last three matchups, all in BIG EAST play.

- Marquette now owns an 81-49 record in the series with the Blue Demons, which dates back to the 1917-18 season. The Golden Eagles widely lead the series in Milwaukee, owning a 31-win margin (46-15).
 - MU has now won three consecutive contests after dropping its first three conference tilts, having beaten No. 16/17 Providence and Georgetown in the last week in addition to the win over the Blue Demons.
 - DPU ended the first half on a hot streak, hitting eight of its last nine field goal attempts to bring the deficit to one.
 - Marquette led for 34:38 of the matchup, with its biggest lead being 19 points.
 - Elliott totaled his third double-digit performance of the season, including 15 points in the first half on 3-for-4 shooting from beyond the arc. Tuesday marked the second time the Michigander has surpassed 20 points.
 - Tyler Kolek, who leads the BIG EAST and ranks 14th nationally in assists, contributed a career-high 10. He began the game with assists on MU's first three field goals of the night.
 - Elliott also set his career high for free throws, going 7-for-7Â from the line. His previous high was a 6-of-6 performance against Providence in 2017-18 as a freshman.
 - The Blue Demons won the rebounding battle, 42-27, and converted 21Â second chance points off a 20-5 edge on the offensive glass.
