#MUBB topples Seton Hall, 73-72, with last-second free throw

MU has its first four-game BIG EAST win streak since 2018-19
MILWAUKEE - The Marquette University men's basketball team toppled No. 20/18 Seton Hall, 73-72, at Fiserv Forum on Saturday afternoon.
Darryl Morsell paced the Golden Eagles (12-6, 4-3 BIG EAST) with a career-high 26 points. It was Morsell's fifth 20-point game of the season, and his first since Nov. 18 against Ole Miss when he began the year with four-straight 20-point performances.
MU guard Greg Elliott, playing in his 100th career game, knocked down a free throw with 1.8 seconds on the clock to give Marquette its final lead of the ballgame.
Justin Lewis added 18 points for the Golden Eagles, while seven other players appeared in the scoring column.
The win marks the Golden Eagles' third of the season over an Associated Press Top-25 ranked opponent, having defeated No. 10 Illinois and No. 16/17 Providence earlier in the year.
For Seton Hall (11-5, 2-4 BIG EAST), Bryce Aiken led with 28 points, while Alexis Yetna contributed a double-double with 15 points and a game-high 16 rebounds.

- Marquette has won four-straight BIG EAST games for the first time since the 2018-19 season. MU defeated then-No. 14 Villanova, DePaul, Butler and Providence on Feb. 9-23, 2019. That season also featured an eight-game league win streak that stretched from Jan. 6-30.
- Marquette maintains the lead, 20-13, in the all-time series over the Pirates, which dates back to the 1956 season.
- MU has a strong track record when the game is in Milwaukee, owning an 11-4Â advantage in home matchups.
- Marquette head coach Shaka Smart captured his first ever victory over Seton Hall, moving his record against the school to 1-1.
- Saturday marked the first Marquette win in the series since January of 2019, as the Pirates had taken each of the last six games against the Golden Eagles.
- Seton Hall ended the first half on an 8-0 run and shot 59.3% from the field in the period. MU was also efficient in the opening frame, going 9-for-14 from beyond the 3-point arc.Â
