Golden Eagles conclude weekend with two wins
The Marquette University women's tennis team (3-3) concluded its weekend homestand with a 7-0 victory over Eastern Illinois (0-5) Sunday afternoon in non-conference action at Helfaer Tennis Stadium.
The Golden Eagles opened the match by claiming the doubles point, earning wins at the No. 1 and 3 positions. The duo of Nicole Hopman and Lara Kaiser earned a 6-1 decision at No. 3 to secure the point.
Elisabeth Desmarais (No. 6), Emilija Kojcic (No. 2) and Nicole Hopman (No. 5) each posted quick straight-set wins to secure the team victory.
UP NEXT: Marquette returns to action on Sunday, Feb. 6 when the team travels to Indiana. First serve is set for 2:30 p.m. CT.
