MTEN Wraps Up Homestand With 5-2 Win Over EIU

Golden Eagles travel to Wisconsin Friday night
The Marquette University men's tennis team (2-2) wrapped up its four-match homestand with a 5-2 win over Eastern Illinois (0-7) Sunday afternoon in non-conference action at Helfaer Tennis Stadium.
The Golden Eagles opened the match by claiming the doubles point, courtesy of wins at the No. 1 and No. 3 spots.Ā The MU tandem of Rami Scheetz and Will Tennison secured the point with a 7-5Ā win at No. 3.
Ian Brady moved MU ahead 2-0 with a quick 6-3, 6-0 win at No. 5 and Stefan Dragovic did the same at No. 1, giving Marquette an early 3-0 advantage.
Scheetz and claimed a straight-set win at No. 3 and the victory was secured.
UP NEXT:Ā Marquette hits the road for the first time in dual action with action at rival Wisconsin on Friday, Feb. 4 at 5:30 p.m.
