SOUTH ORANGE, New Jersey – The No. 18 Marquette University women's volleyball team rolled to its 13th win in a row with a 25-16, 25-18, 25-16 sweep of Seton Hall on Saturday afternoon at Walsh Gymnasium.
The Golden Eagles (15-1, 6-0 BIG EAST) hit a combined .301 (47-16-103) and held Seton Hall (13-5, 4-2 BIG EAST) to a mark of just .063 (25-19-95).
MU outside hitters Jenna Reitsma and Aubrey Hamilton were the only two players in double digits with 11 and 10 kills, respectively. Reitsma also added 12 digs for her second consecutive double-double and fourth of the year. She also had three of MU's six service aces of the afternoon.
"I thought we did a really nice job from the service line tonight," said MU head coach Ryan Theis. "(MU assistant coach Ryan Walthall) 'Walt' had a nice plan and servers executed it well. It seemed like any time Seton Hall made a push we had a different player step up with a kill and a different server go back and run some points."
MU led by as many as 10 points in the opening set victory, while hitting a match-best .333 with 17 kills.
The Pirates jumped out to an early 3-1 edge in the third set before a 13-1 run by the Golden Eagles put the frame and the match out of reach. MU led by as many as 13 points in the 25-16 third set win.
