Golden Eagles head to Rocket Mortgage Tip-Off Nov. 21-23
The Marquette University men's basketball team (2-1, 0-0 BIG EAST) returns home to host LIU (1-1, 0-0 NEC) on Thursday, Nov. 17 at 7:30 p.m. CT in Fiserv Forum. Â FS2 features the television broadcast, with Telly Hughes (play-by-play) and Stephen Bardo (analyst) calling the action. Â Following Thursday's outing, the Golden Eagles will travel to Ft. Myers, Florida, for the Rocket Mortgage Tip-Off Nov. 21-23.

Since 2010, N7 has partnered with select collegiate basketball programs to create turquoise jerseys and shorts. Â More than a color, Turquoise holds symbolic prestige and power in many Native American communities. Â Marquette has participated on an annual basis, featuring special uniforms, warmups and shoes during November's Native American Heritage Month.

Nike is committed to getting youth in Native American and Aboriginal communities moving so they can lead healthier, happier and more successful lives. Through Nike's N7 Fund, it supports organizations that provide sport and physical activity programming to youth in these communities. The N7 Fund helps them reach their greatest potential through play and sport and creates more equal playing fields for all. Â

Since its creation, the Nike N7 Fund has awarded more than $8 million in grants, administered by the Charities Aid Foundation of America, to more than 270 communities and organizations.
MU Falls Short At Purdue In First Road Game

While Marquette's bid for a road victory at Purdue came up short on Tuesday night, there were several notable individual performances as this year's roster continues to evolve with new roles in 2022-23.

After watching Kam Jones net 16 first-half points at Purdue, sophomore forward David Joplin decided to take control in the second half.

He scored all of his game-high 21 points in the second stanza, finishing the night 7-of-11 from the floor overall and 5-of-7 from distance. Â He also chipped in a personal-best nine boards.

The Milwaukee native has averaged 22.0 points per game in the last two outings, knocking down 15-of-23 (65.2 percent) of his shot attempts overall, including 11-of-17 (64.7 percent) from behind the 3-pont line. Â His numbers are even more impressive in the last two outings considering he has played just 20.8 minutes per contest.

For the season, Joplin is 11-of-21 (52.4 percent) from behind the 3-point line after finishing just 17-of-59 (28.8 percent) in 32 appearances in 2021-22.
Thursday's Matchup Opens Tourney Play

Thursday's outing is part of the Rocket Mortgage Fort Myers Tip-Off, which heads to the state of Florida Nov. 21-23.

MU, Georgia Tech, Mississippi State and Utah will compete in the Beach Division of the event, with the Golden Eagles facing the Bulldogs in their opener.
