#MUBB Hangs On For 68-66 Win At Villanova

Golden Eagles continue road swing Tuesday at St. John's
The Marquette University men's basketball team (11-4, 3-1 BIG EAST) pulled out a dramatic 68-66 win at Villanova (7-7, 1-2 BIG EAST) Saturday afternoon in BIG EAST Conference action.
Guard Stevie Mitchell led the team with 19 points and guard Kam Jones chipped in 14 points for Marquette.
Villanova is 47-3 in the Pavilion since the BIG EAST re-organized in 2013-14 and two of the losses have been to Marquette.
The Golden Eagles trailed by as many as nine points early in the second half before moving ahead midway through the stanza and held on after a pair of free throws from Olivier-Maxence Prosper proved to be the difference as Nova missed as time expired..
Marquette trailed 44-39 at the intermission after the Wildcats knocked down 55.6 percent of their shots, including an 8-of-16 effort from behind the 3-point line. Kam Jones led the way with 14 points in the opening 20 minutes and Pennsylvania native Stevie Mitchell chipped in 12 points

Notables:
- Stevie Mitchell's 19 points marked a career high and his most since netting 14 points in his first-career game against SIUE to open the 2021-22 campaign.
- Mitchell also finished with a career-high four steals
- Forward Oso Ighodaro was limited to 12 minutes in the fist half after picking up his second foul.
- Guard Tyler Kolek, who entered the game first in the BIG EAST and fourth in the nation in assists (7.5 apg.), finished with eight helpers
