WTEN Earns 5-2 Win Over Georgetown

MU hosts UIC Sunday at 11 a.m. to conclude weekend
The Marquette University women's tennis team (5-6) picked up a 5-2 win against Georgetown (0-8) Friday afternoon at Helfaer Tennis Stadium.
The Golden Eagles opened the match by claiming the valuable doubles point with wins at the No. 1 and 2 positions. The MU tandem of Lara Kaiser and Giulia Turconi clinched the point with a 6-3 decision at No. 2.
Marquette continued the momentum into singles action as Elisabeth Desmarais quickly gave MU a 2-0 advantage with a 6-1, 6-3 win at No. 5. Also earning singles victories for Marquette were Natalija Popovic, Emilija Kojcic and Elizabeth Ferdman, who clinched the team victory.
