MU will now wait for its name to be called on Sunday night on the NCAA Selection Show at 5 p.m. CT on Sunday, March 13.
Creighton made eight of its first nine shots in the second half to pull away by double figures. The Golden Eagles made a pair of rally attempts down the stretch, closing to 63-61 on a 3-point play by Greg Elliott, but weren't able to complete the comeback.
Marquette trailed 29-26 at the intermission, despite holding the Bluejays to just 33.3 percent shooting from the floor. The Golden Eagles turned the ball over 10 times in the opening 20 minutes, leading to 13 Creighton points.
