Popovic clinches win with victory at No. 1
The Marquette University women's tennis team (9-7) opened its weekend schedule with a 5-2 win over Creighton (9-5) Saturday night in BIG EAST action at Helfaer Tennis Stadium.
The Golden Eagles will also host DePaul on Sunday.
Marquette opened the match by claiming the doubles point with wins at the No. 1 and 3 positions and Natalija Popovic clinched the team victory with a narrow 7-5, 7-6 decision at No. 1 singles. Also earning victories for the Golden Eagles were Elisabeth Desmarais, Sarah Badawi and Lara Kaiser.
