Eichhorn tied for 35th after day one at NCAA Columbus Regional

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Marquette University graduate student Hunter Eichhorn is tied for 35th after shooting an opening round 3-over 74 in the Columbus Regional of the 2022 NCAA Division I Men's Golf Championships at Ohio State Golf Club's Scarlet Course.

Eichhorn opened his round at 1-under through the first five holes after a birdie on the par-4 third hole. He made the turn at 2-over after bogeys on Nos. 6, 8 and 9 to close out the front nine. His second birdie of the day came on the par-3 13th hole and he added a pair of bogeys on the back nine.

Eichhorn, the top-seeded individual in the region, is making his fourth appearance in an NCAA regional. He is the only MU golfer to compete in four NCAA regionals.

The top five teams and the low individual not on those teams from each regional will advance to the NCAA Championships at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona, from May 27-June 1, hosted by Arizona State and The Thunderbirds.
