
Track & Field Concludes Outdoor Regular Season

MU heads to Hartford, Connecticut for BIG EAST Championships on May 13-14
MADISON, WISCONSIN - The Marquette University men's and women's track & field teams concluded their final tune-up before the BIG EAST Championships this week at the Wisconsin Classic.
"The weather cooperated and we were able to have a picture perfect day for the meet," said head coach Bert Rogers. "It was a great final tune-up before the BIG EAST Championships. We had a lot of personal bests and had some people move up on the top-10 all-time lists."
The day began at McClimon Memorial track with the throwing events. Senior Allie Flando added two marks to the all-time top-10 list. Flando threw a PR and the No. 10 mark all-time in the weight throw with a distance of 53.12 meters/174 feet, 3 inches. The Avon, Ohio native also went on to throw the ninth-ranked mark in the shot put in school history with a PR14.04 meters/46 feet, 0.75 inches.
Freshman Grace Mager earned runner-up honors in the javelin with a personal best throw of 39.93 meters/131 feet and moves up to No. 4 all-time in program history. Mia Ketelhohn took third with a throw of 38.32 meters/125 feet, 9 inches, just shy of her personal best.
The MU women claimed the top four spots in the high jump with Lindsey Mirkes taking first. Mirkes cleared a height of 1.73 meters/5 feet, 8 inches. Freshman Annika Bynum received runner-up honors by clearing a height of 1.65 meters/5 feet, 5 inches. Megan Wallace (1.6 meters) and Emma Ludwig (1.55 meters) took third and fourth, respectively, to round out the top four places.
Adelaide Havens won the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:05.31. On the men's side, freshman Caden George ran a personal best time of 56.66.
Siani Brown-Carr earned the bronze in the 100 meters finishing in a personal best time of 12.61.
Multiple Golden Eagles recorded personal bests in the women's 200 meters. Carley Hintz was the top MU finisher claiming fourth with a PR of 25.53. Megan Wallace (25.55) and Mila Puseljic (26.80) followed both clocking personal best times.
In the men's 1500 meters, Alex Watros and Matthew Moravec both finished in personal best times for Marquette. Watros finished fourth with a PR of 4:24.02. Moravec followed behind in fifth with a PR of 4:49.74.
"We're rocking and rolling right now and we are ready to head out to Connecticut for BIG EAST next week."

The Golden Eagles head to Hartford, Connecticut for the BIG EAST Championships. The conference championships begin Friday, May 13 and conclude Saturday, May 14.
