
Track & Field Set for BIG EAST Championships

BIG EAST Championships start Friday, May 13 at 9 a.m. CT
MILWAUKEE – The Marquette University men's and women's track & field teams travel to Hartford, Connecticut for the 2022 BIG EAST Outdoor Championships presented by JEEP. The meet will take place at the George J. Sherman Family Sports Complex at the University of Connecticut
Action begins Friday morning at 9 a.m. CT and concludes Saturday afternoon with the awards ceremony. The meet will air on the the BIG EAST Digital Network on FloSports. Friday coverage begins at 1 p.m. CT. Live results of the conference championships can be found here.
The Golden Eagles' men's team claimed fifth and the women's team finished sixth at the 2021 BIG EAST Outdoor Championships. UConn is the defending champions on the men's side and Villanova for the women.

MU is coming off their final tune up at the Wisconsin Classic in the Madison.

LAST TIME OUT:
MU is coming off their final tune up at the Wisconsin Classic in the Madison.
- 27 Golden Eagles recorded personal bests in their individual events and four added their names to the top-10 all-time lists.
- Senior captain Allie Flando recorded top-10 marks in the shot put and hammer throw. Flando posted a mark of 14.04 meters/46 feet, 0.75 inches in the shot put to claim the No. 9 spot all-time. In the hammer throw, she recorded a distance of 53.12 meters/174 feet, 3 inches to set the No. 10 mark in program history. Flando earned weekly BIG EAST honors for her performance.
- Freshman Grace Mager took second in the javelin with a personal best of 39.93 meters/131 feet. Her mark ranks fourth best in school history and fell just shy of the freshmen record.
- Freshman Kaylee Hopp took first in the triple jump with a PR of 11.54/37 feet, 10.5 inches. Her mark ranks 10th in MU history.
- Freshman Caden George dropped his personal best in the 400-meter hurdles by a full second with a time of 56.66.
