Golden Eagles return to action at Spartan Invite
The Marquette University women's tennis team resume their fall campaign this weekend as they travel to East Lasing, Michigan for the Spartan Invitational.
The tournament will be conducted in a "dynamic duo" format. Two teammates will compete as a duo throughout the weekend. They will play a doubles match, and then individually against the same duo in two singles matches. The team that wins two out of three will advance in the draw.Â
"It will be exciting to have the entire team together at the same event this weekend at MSU," director of tennis Steve Rodecap said. "It will be a great opportunity for them to compete against some really good teams. The dynamic duo format creates a fun team-like environment which the players really enjoy competing in."
In doubles action, the pairings of Andie Weise/Tiana Windbuchler and Sarah Badawi/Giulia Turconi both went undefeated on the weekend in Minnesota at the previous event for MU. Newcomer Emma Davis finished 3-0 in singles action at the Gopher Invite in her collegiate debut as a Golden Eagle.
