Alumni weekend includes matchup vs. Red Storm on Sunday
The Marquette University women's soccer team (5-7-4, 2-3-2 BIG EAST) wraps up the home portion of its 2023 campaign this week with a pair of matches at Valley Fields.

The Golden Eagles first-place Georgetown to campus on Thursday, Oct. 19 for a 7 p.m. CT matchup prior to Sunday's 1 p.m. CT contest with St. John's in the home finale on Oct. 22.
MU Searching For Postseason Bid     Â
Marquette enters the final two weeks of the season in search of one of six spots in the BIG EAST tourney.

The Golden Eagles are currently in seventh place with eight points, just one point behind Seton Hall. Â The Pirates, however, have played one more league match and only have two outings left in the regular season.
  Â
Butler currently owns the eighth spot with seven points and will face Seton Hall at home on Thursday night.

MU's final three matches include contests with top-seeded Georgetown, as well as Xavier, which is currently in second place in the league.
Easter Seeing Lots Of Action        Â
Goalkeeper Mikki Easter has settled into the starting netminder role for Marquette and has been busy between the pipes this season.

Through matches of Oct. 16, Easter ranks second in the BIG EAST in both saves (58) and saves per game (4.14). Â She is also tied for fifth in the league in shutouts (4).

Marquette is tops in the BIG EAST and sixth in the nation in fouls per game (13.56).
Easter, Block Earn Weekly Honors

Marquette seniors Mikki Easter and Hailey Block both earned BIG EAST Conference accolades on Oct. 2 after leading MU to a 3-1 win at Creighton (Sept. 28) and a 0-0 draw at UConn (Oct. 1).

Easter was named BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week after combining to make 14 saves in the two outings, matching a personal best (Aug. 24 vs. Denver) with eight stops against Creighton. Â She followed that up with her fourth shutout of the campaign at UConn.
  Â
Block scored a pair of goals in the victory at Creighton, her first scores of the campaign. Â She opened the scoring just two minutes into the match and provided a two-goal advantage prior to the intermission.
Bieda Nets Goal, Ends StreakÂ

Forward Josie Bieda netted the game-winning goal in a 1-0 decision at Milwaukee on Sept. 7, snapping the Panthers' 19-match winning streak (18-0-1) at Engelmann Stadium.

The Downers Grove, Illinois, native now leads the team with three goals after netting the team's lone score in the Oct. 15 draw at Villanova.
