WBB Faces IUPUI Wednesday Night in Indianapolis

First Road Game of the Season Comes After Saturday’s Win Over No. 23 Illinois
MILWAUKEE – The Marquette University women's basketball team heads to Indianapolis to face IUPUI for the first road game of the 2023-24 season. Tipoff from The Jungle is at 6 p.m. CT on Wednesday, Nov. 15.
The Golden Eagles are coming off a 71-67 win against No. 23 Illinois on Saturday. Liza Karlen, who earned BIG EAST Player of the Week honors, had a game-high 22 points on 11-of-16 shooting.
Jordan King had 19 points, six rebounds, three steals and three assists against Illinois. Rose Nkumu, who is third in the nation in field goal percentage (90.9 percent), scored 12 points and was 2-of-2 from three-point range for the second-straight game.
Mackenzie Hare, in her first two career starts, is fifth in the NCAA in assist-to-turnover ratio (11.0) and has a team-high five three-pointers made.
Marquette is first in the BIG EAST and 24th nationally in field goal percentage (50.8 percent) through the first two games. The Golden Eagles shot 51.7 percent from the floor in the season-opener against UT Martin and were right at 50 percent shooting in the win against No. 23 Illinois. MU shot 50 percent or better as a team three times last season.
Wednesday's meeting will be the third all-time with the series tied, 1-1.

• The Jaguars beat Eastern Illinois in their home opener, 77-72, behind 32 points from Davidson.
• IUPUI was picked to finish ninth in the Horizon League preseason poll.
• Jazmyn Turner was voted Preseason All-League First-Team.
