WBB Dominates in Road Win at IUPUI

INDIANAPOLIS - The Marquette University women's basketball team stayed perfect on Wednesday night, beating IUPUI, 92-58, in the first road contest of the season.

The Golden Eagles (3-0, 0-0 BIG EAST) shot 52.2 percent from the floor and had five players score in double figures for the second time in as many games. Marquette has shot over 50 percent in the first three games of the season after hitting that mark three times all of last season.

After being up two after the first, MU outscored IUPUI 25-11 in the second quarter to take a 16-point lead into the half. IUPUI got the lead to single digits (48-39) with five minutes left in the third quarter, but a Rose Nkumu three-pointer got the lead back to double digits that stayed the rest of the game.

IUPUI (1-2, 0-0 HORIZON) was led by Talhia Walton who had 14 points and four rebounds. Katie Davidson, who had 32 points in their opener and 23 points at Ohio State, was held to just eight points.

Mackenzie Hare had a game-high 22 points, one point shy of her career-high, and tied a career-high with five three-pointers made.
Skylar Forbes scored a career-high 15 points on 5-of-8 shooting.
Abbey Cracknell scored a career-high four points.
Frannie Hottinger had 10 points and six rebounds, second time in her Marquette career scoring in double figures.
Liza Karlen scored in double figures (16 points) for the third time this season and 38th time in her career.
Jordan King scored in double figures (14 points) for the third time this season and 72nd time in her career..
Rose Nkumu is 5-of-5 from three this season after being 1-of-1 tonight. She is 12-of-14 shooting overall this season (85.7 percent).
