WBB Hosts Saint Peter’s on Sunday

MILWAUKEE – The Marquette University women's basketball team (3-0, 0-0 BIG EAST) returns home to host Saint Peter's this Sunday, Nov. 19. Tipoff from the Al McGuire Center is at 1 p.m. CT.

The Golden Eagles are coming off their first road game of the season, beating IUPUI 92-58 in Indianapolis on Wednesday night. MU shot 52.2 percent from the floor, the third-straight game shooting over 50 percent as a team. It's the first time in the Megan Duffy era MU has shot 50 percent or better in its first three games.

Mackenzie Hare has led the team in scoring twice in the first three contests. The sophomore had a game-high 22 points at IUPUI, one point shy of tying a career-high. Hare is 20th in the nation in assist-to-turnover ratio (6.5) and has hit a team-high 10 three-pointers.

SCOUTING THE PEACOCKS
• Saint Peter's (1-2, 0-0 MAAC) is coming off a 103-33 loss at Illinois.
• Junior Jada Williams leads the team averaging 10.3 points per game.
• Freshman Fatmata Janneh is averaging 8.3 points and 7.3 rebounds per game.
• The Peacocks beat Central Connecticut State in their home opener, 61-57, with three players scoring in double figures.
• Saint Peter's was picked to finish 11th in the MAAC preseason poll.

ALL-TIME SERIES AGAINST SAINT PETER'S
• Sunday's matchup will be the second all-time between the two schools with Saint Peter's leading the series, 1-0.
• Saint Peter's beat Marquette, 73-49, on Dec. 29, 1989 at Saint Peter's holiday tournament in Jersey City, N.J.

HOT SHOOTING START
• Marquette is first in the BIG EAST and 16th in the nation in shooting percentage (51.37 percent) through the first three games.
• The Golden Eagles shot 51.7 percent from the floor in the season-opener against UT Martin and were right at 50 percent shooting in the win against then No. 23 Illinois. MU followed those up with a season-best 52.2 percent on Wednesday at IUPUI.
• Marquette shot 50 percent or better as a team three times all of last season.

MOVING THE BALL
• Marquette is second in the BIG EAST and 15th in the nation in assists per game (21.0).
• The Golden Eagles have recorded 20 or more assists in two of the three games this season. MU hit that mark eight times last season.
