
WBB Soars Over Arkansas, Takes Fort Myers Tip-Off Title

Fort Myers, Fla. – The Marquette University women's basketball took down Arkansas 74-58 to take the Fort Myers Tip-Off Shell Division championship on Saturday.
Marquette came right out of the gates with a 6-0 run that forced Arkansas to take a timeout less than two minutes into the game. MU would add two more buckets quickly to make it 10-0. The lead would stay in double-digits the rest of the way.
Rose Nkumu was named the tournament's most valuable player after her 14 points, seven assists and three steals in the title game. Nkumu averaged 12.5 points, 5.5 assists and 2.5 steals through the two games.
Liza Karlen was named to the all-tournament team after her 20-point, nine rebound performance on Saturday. Karlen averaged 15 points and seven rebounds at the event.

- MU is 34-11 against non-conference opponents under Megan Duffy.
- Frannie Hottinger had her second double-double of the season and 24th of her career (12 points, 12 rebounds).
- Liza Karlen had her second 20-point game of the season and sixth of her career.
