Golden Eagles Stay Perfect on the Season, 7-0
MILWAUKEE – The No. 23 Marquette women's basketball team stayed perfect on Wednesday, beating Memphis 88-59 at the Al McGuire Center.
Marquette shot over 50 percent for the fifth time this season (54.1 percent) and was led by Liza Karlen who had a game-high 21 points on 10-of-15 shooting. The Golden Eagles have had at least four score in double figures in six of seven games this season.
The Golden Eagles had 24 assists on 33 made buckets, the fourth time in seven games MU has had 20 or more assists.
Memphis was led by Kai Carter who had 18 points on 7-of-20 shooting.

- The Golden Eagles are now 17-8 all-time versus Memphis. Both are former Conference USA members.
- MU shot a season-best 62.5 percent from three (10-of-16), tied for the best three-point percentage in a game in the Megan Duffy era.
- Second game in a row Liza Karlen started 4-of-4 from the field. The senior finished the game with 21 points, her third 20-point game of the season and seventh of her career.
- Mackenzie Hare hit five threes for the third time this season and finished with 17 points on 6-of-11 shooting.
- Golden Eagles outscored Memphis 23-6 in the second quarter, the lowest points scored by an opponent in a quarter this season.
- Halle Vice made her Golden Eagle debut, scoring two points with one rebound and one assists in six minutes played.
- Rose Nkumu was perfect from three for the fifth time this season. The senior finished with a career-high 17 points on 6-of-7 shooting from the floor and four assists and three rebounds.
- All 11 players for Marquette who checked into tonight's game scored.
