Golden Eagles back in action Friday against Rider
MILWAUKEE - The Marquette University men's basketball team (1-0, 0-0 BIG EAST) opened its 2023-24 campaign with a 92-70 victory over Northern Illinois (0-1, 0-0 MAC) on Monday evening at Fiserv Forum.
Kam Jones led the Golden Eagles (1-0) with 20 points and three assists, while Tyler Kolek, Chase Ross, and Oso Ighodaro each had double figures as well. MU shot 52.2 percent from the field (35 of 67) and 36 percent from deep (9 of 25).Â
David Coit led the Huskies (0-1) with 14 points on 3-12 shooting. The Huskies shot 37.1 percent from the floor (26 of 70) and 26.9 percent from deep (7-26).
