MU closes out Spring Break Tennis Friday
ORLANDO, Fla. - The Marquette University women's tennis team (4-9) records a 7-0 sweep Thursday afternoon over Fairfield (4-7) at SBT powered by USTA.
"I am proud of our team and the way they have approached each match here in Orlando to this point, Assistant Coach Dusan Medan said, "Our confidence is growing in our doubles and singles games, and it has shown in the last few matches."
The Golden Eagles opened the match in dominate fashion with 6-3 wins at the No. 1 and 2 positions to take the doubles point.
Junior Emilija Kojcic and seniors Elisabeth Desmarais and Julieanne Bou all claimed straight-set wins in the three top spots for the Golden Eagles.
Emilija Kojcic and Lara Kaiser also claimed straight-set singles victory for the Golden Eagles at the No. 1 and No. 5 spots.
Sarah Badawi, Elizabeth Ferdman and Emma Davis took straight-set singles wins at No. 4, 5 and 6, while not letting any of their opponents score more than three points in each set.
