COLUMBIA, Missouri – The Marquette University men's golf team took fourth place with a season-best 26-under par 838 (273-280-285) at the Tiger Collegiate Invitational.
It was a strong showing from MU at Old Hawthorne, with four Golden Eagles finishing even par or better and three shooting par or better in all three rounds.
Marquette's lineup turned in a combined 12 rounds of par or better in the tournament.
Nicolás Evangelio was the low man for MU with a career-low 11-under par 205. Evangelio shot an even par 72 in the final round to tie for sixth, his fifth top-10 finish of the year. In the second round, he turned in a season-best single-round score with a 7-under 65.
Bhoom Sima-Aree also posted a 54-hole career-best with an 8-under par 208 to finish tied for 12th. Sima-Aree had the low round for Marquette on the final day with a 2-under 70. He rolled in a tournament-best three eagles over the 54-holes.
Senior Tyler Leach battled back in the final round after dropping three shots over two holes with a double bogey on No. 6 and a bogey on No. 7. Leach responded with three straight birdies on Nos. 8, 9 and 10. Marquette's No. 1 finished the day even par and 2-under for the tournament to finish tied for 31st.
Josh Robinson shot a 1-under 71 in the third round to drop to even par for the tournament and tied for 41st.
No. 5 Illinois won the Tiger Collegiate with a 68-under par 796.

On Apr. 17-18, the Golden Eagles will compete in the Redhawk Intercollegiate at the Pittsburgh Field Club in Pittsburgh, PA. This will be MU's final tournament before the BIG EAST Championships.
