VILLANOVA, Pennsylvania – The Marquette University men's lacrosse team dropped its second overtime game in as many weeks on Saturday afternoon, 16-15, at Villanova Stadium against No. 12/13 Villanova.
Austin Fraser scored the game winner for the Wildcats 1:11 into extra time after Villanova (10-3, 3-1 BIG EAST) tied the game with 33 seconds left in regulation on Fraser's third goal.
Attackmen Devon Cowan and Bobby O'Grady each scored four goals for the Golden Eagles (6-7, 1-3 BIG EAST), who led by as many as three scores in the third period. Cowan's final goal put MU in front, 15-14, with 6:06 remaining and the two teams did not score again until Fraser's third and tying goal.
MU led 9-7 at the half as faceoff specialist Grant Evans won 7-of-9 draws in the first 30 minutes. Villanova scored seven third quarter goals and led 14-12 after three quarters.

MU closes the regular season on Friday, April 28 against No. 11/12 Denver in Milwaukee on Senior Night.

- Cowan (85 career goals) and O'Grady (82) are second and third all-time, respectively, in Marquette history in goals scored.
- Stegman is second in Marquette history with 54 career assists, behind only Conor Gately (63). Stegman has a program-record 29 assists this season.
- Villanova leads the all-time series against Marquette, 9-3, and has won each of the last seven meetings.
- The Golden Eagles are 1-5 against the Wildcats at Villanova Stadium and their lone victory was a 10-9 overtime decision on April 1, 2017.Â
