Golden Eagles season record remains unblemished
MILWAUKEE – The Marquette University men's soccer team (6-0-0, 0-0-0 BIG EAST) Wisconsin (3-2-1, 0-0-0 BIG EAST ) on Monday evening at Valley Fields.

"Really good win for us, we started the game off really well," head coach Louis Bennett said. "I thought our guys did a fantastic job with playing a man down, our back line was great in the win especially after the red card."

The Golden Eagles scored first early in the match; In just his first career start, freshman Ryan Amond in the first minute of the match scored his first goal of the season, Edrey Caceres recorded his first assist of the night on the goal.
In the thirteenth minute of the match, the Badgers scored a goal on a deflected shot to tie the score at 1-1.

Later in the first half during the 36th minute, Edrey Caceres recorded his second assist of the contest and found Brooklyn Merl for his fifth goal of the season.

Seconds after the second half began, Beto Soto and Noah Madrigal assisted Edrey Caceres to put the Golden Eagles up 3-1 over the Badgers.
"We're really happy with the win, I am proud of the guys for grinding it out," Edrey Caceres said. "I have to give a shout out to Ludvig Målberg and our back line, they were really good tonight."Â Â Â
In the 52nd minute senior Jai Hsieh-Bailey received a straight red card after a tackle on the ball. The booking resulted in the Golden Eagles being forced to finish the match down a man.

While playing with only ten men on the field for nearly 40 minutes, the Golden Eagles back line held strong for the remainder of the second half and did not allow any of the Badgers eight shots on goal find the net.
