7 p.m, CT start continues homestand
The Marquette University women's soccer team (3-4-2, 0-0-0 BIG EAST) continues its four-match homestand this week with a pair of matches to open BIG EAST Conference play at Valley Fields.

The Golden Eagles welcome DePaul on Thursday, Sept. 21 at 7 p.m. CT before hosting Butler at 1 p.m. CT on Sunday, Sept. 24.
Pair of Freshman Net GoalsÂ
 Â
Marquette picked up a win and a tie in a pair of home outings last week, thanks to goals from two members of its freshman class.

Taylor Schad was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll after a goal against WMU and an assist versus St. Thomas. Â She also drew the foul that led to Isa Cook's PK game winner against the Broncos.

Emily Fix headed home her first-career goal in the 1-1 draw with St. Thomas.

Five different players have now scored for Marquette in 2023.
Bieda Nets Goal, Ends StreakÂ

Forward Josie Bieda netted the game-winning goal in a 1-0 decision at Milwaukee on Sept. 7, snapping the Panthers' 19-match winning streak (18-0-1) at Engelmann Stadium.

The goal was Bieda's first of the season and first since Sept. 2, 2022 against UIC.
Cook, Block Claim HonorsÂ

Marquette seniors Isa Cook and Hailey Block were both named to the all-tournament team of the Milwaukee Challenge Cup after outings against Denver and Minnesota.
Easter Grabs Career HighÂ
  Â
Netminder Mikki Easter finished with a career-best eight saves in the 0-0 draw against Denver on August 24.

The Culpepper, Virginia, native owns a trio of shutouts on the season and nine for her 35-game career at Marquette. Â Easter twice stopped seven shots in an outing prior to the matchup with the Pioneers.
Cline Nets Winner At ColoradoÂ
  Â
Junior defender Caroline Cline touched home her second-career goal on Aug. 20 at Colorado, giving MU just enough to earn the 1-0 victory.

Cline found herself alone at the back post in the 35th minute on a corner from Mia Heartle and Kate Gibson's quick touch at the near post rolled right to Cline's feet.
Marquette Picked Eighth In PollÂ

MU was picked to finish eighth in the 11-program BIG EAST Conference by the league's head coaches in the preseason poll.

The Golden Eagles are looking for their first league tournament appearance since the 2017 campaign. Â Defending champion Georgetown claimed 10 of the 11 first-place votes to earn the top spot and Xavier was selected second.
MU Begins BIG EAST PlayÂ

Marquette faces a pair of familiar opponents as the team begins league play against DePaul and Butler.

The series with the Blue Demons dates back to the 2014 campaign and Butler has claimed each of the last six meetings, with the teams first meeting in 1995.
