Golden Eagles travel to Creighton Thursday night
The Marquette University women's soccer team (4-5-2, 1-1-0 BIG EAST) continued BIG EAST Conference play with a 2-0 loss against Butler (5-4-2, 1-0-1 BIG EAST) Sunday afternoon at Valley Fields.
Â
Sunday's action wrapped up a season-long four-match homestand for the Golden Eagles, who return to BIG EAST action on the road Thursday night.
Â
It was a slow afternoon for the Golden Eagles offensively, who finished with just two shots for the match. Forward Kate Gibson had both of the attempts. Butler wasn't any more dangerous offensively, but were able to open the scoring in the 61st minute on a penalty kick.
Â
UP NEXT: The Golden Eagles return to action on Thursday, Sept. 28 when the team travels to Creighton for a 6 p.m. CT matchup.
