MILWAUKEE -Â The Marquette University men's soccer team (4-0-0, 0-0-0 BIG EAST) will celebrate international heritage and take on UTRGV (2-2-0, 0-0-0 WAC) on Friday, September 8 at 7:05 p.m. in Milwaukee.Â
Målberg, Madrigal Earn BIG EAST Weekly Honors
Sophomore Ludvig Målberg was named the league's Goalkeeper of the Week following the Golden Eagles' two victories over Detroit Mercy and Harvard. Målberg faced a season high 11 shots vs Detroit Mercy, making five saves. The Swedes native has recorded 15 saves on the season and owns three clean sheets. Â
Senior forward Noah Madrigal was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll after tallying two goals and one assist in MU's 6-0 victory over Detroit Mercy on Friday. Scoring both goals in the second half of the match, he became the second Marquette player to record a brace this season.
Best Start Since 2012 Campaign
The team's four-straight wins to open the season is the best start for the Golden Eagles since the 2012 season, a season in which the Golden Eagles were crowned BIG EAST Tournament Champions. Â
The Golden Eagles have had no shortage of offense this season scoring a season high of six goals against Detroit Mercy, with five of the goals coming in the second half.Â
MU's back line has played an equal part of Marquette's hot start tallying three consecutive shutouts and making it tough for opponents to set up scoring opportunities.Â
Series History
Friday's match will be the first meeting between Marquette and UTRGV in program history.Â
UP NEXT:Â

The first meeting between the Golden Eagles and the Badgers dates back to 1964, which resulted in a 3-0 victory for the Golden Eagles. From then on the squads have competed every season with Marquette holding a 18-32-11 record against the in-state foe.
