MILWAUKEE - The No. 11/12 Marquette University men's basketball team fell to Butler, 69-62, on Wednesday evening at Fiserv Forum.
Junior guard Kam Jones scored a game-high 20 points for the Golden Eagles (11-5, 2-3 BIG EAST) and became the 51st player in Marquette history to reach 1,000 career points.
The Bulldogs (11-5, 2-3 BIG EAST) trailed by seven points at the half and fought back to take their first lead of the game with 13:52 remining in the second half on a Posh Alexander layup. Alexander was one of four BU players in double digits, including center Jalen Thomas who posted a double-double with 10 points and 14 rebounds.
Marquette shot just 24-of-73 from the floor (32.9 percent) and was 5-for-31 from deep.

- Kam Jones entered Wednesday's game with 989 career points. He hit a free throw at the 13:32 mark of the opening half for his 11th point of the night to reach 1,000 in his career.
- Kam Jones led all players with 17 points in the first half and scored 16 of his points on layups. He was 8-of-8 from 2-point range in 16 first half minutes.
- MU freshman Zaide Lowery had a career-high seven points in 12:55 of action.
- MU junior Stevie Mitchell notched his second game this season scoring in double figures. Mitchell had 10 points and tied a career high with eight rebounds.
- It was announced prior to the game that MU point guard Tyler Kolek was named to the Wooden Award Midseason Top 25 Watch List.
