
WBB Drops Road Contest at Villanova

PHILADELPHIAÂ - The No. 22/22 Marquette women's basketball team fell 66-63 to Villanova on Wednesday night at Finneran Pavilion.
Marquette (15-3, 4-3 BIG EAST) was led by Mackenzie Hare, who had 21 points on 5-of-10 shooting from deep.
Liza Karlen (16) and Jordan King (13) joined Hare in double-figures.
The game saw six ties and just one lead change. The biggest leads of the game belonged to Marquette, who started the game with a 7-0 run and led 63-56 with 3:54 remaining in the fourth.
A 10-0 run in the last 3:43 swung the game in the Wildcats favor. A Lucy Olsen layup with 29Â seconds remaining gave the home team their first lead of the game, 64-63.
The BIG EAST's leading scorer added two free throws with 12 seconds remaining to grow the lead to three that would stay.
Villanova (12-5, 5-1 BIG EAST) was led by Olsen who had a game-high 37 points on 12-of-19 shooting.Â

- Mackenzie Hare hit her 100th 3-pointer of her career tonight. The sophomore reached 100 career 3's in 49 games, fastest since Natisha Hiedeman (43 games), who is first all-time in career 3's with 301 from 2015-19.
- Sixth game this season Mackenzie Hare has hit five 3's.
- Rose Nkumu had six assists, her eighth game of the season with five-or-more assists.
