WBB Hosts UConn Tuesday Night

The Marquette women's basketball team hosts No. 8/8 UConn Tuesday night at 6 p.m. CT inside the Al McGuire Center. The game will be broadcast on SNY and streamed on the FOX Sports app. Allen Bestwick (play-by-play), Meghan Culmo (analyst) and Chelsea Sherrod (sideline) will be on the call.

SCOUTING THE HUSKIES
• UConn is coming off an 88-51 win against DePaul on Saturday.
• The Huskies have won 12 straight.
• Paige Bueckers was voted preseason BIG EAST Player of the Year. KK Arnold (Germantown, Wis.) was voted preseason BIG EAST Freshman of the Year.
• The Huskies tied for the conference lead with three preseason All-BIG EAST selections in Azzi Fudd, Aaliyah Edwards and Nika Muhl.
• UConn was picked to finish first in the BIG EAST preseason coaches' poll.

ALL-TIME SERIES AGAINST UCONN
• Tuesday's matchup will be the 20th meeting all-time between Marquette and UConn.
• UConn leads the series, 18-1.
• Marquette's lone win in the series came last year, a 59-52 win at home on Feb. 8, 2023.
• It was the second-highest ranked win in program history. UConn was ranked No. 4.

KING TOP RETURNING SCORER IN BIG EAST
• At 17.2 points per game in league play, Jordan King is the BIG EAST's top returning scorer from 2022-23.
• King has 49 double-figure scoring performances in conference play, including seven 20-point games.
• King is the active career scoring and assists leader in the conference with 1,660 points and 548 assists.

HARE AMONG NATION'S BEST FROM THREE
• Mackenzie Hare is sixth in the nation in 3-point percentage (47.4) and 16th in treys per game (2.9).
• Hare hit her 100th 3-pointer at Villanova on Jan. 17. The sophomore reached 100 career 3's in 49 games, fastest since Natisha Hiedeman (43 games) who is first all-time in career 3's with 301 from 2015-19.
• The Naperville, Illinois native is first in the BIG EAST in 3-pointers made with 55 for the season, good for ninth in the nation.

FLOOR LEADER
• Rose Nkumu has nine games with 5-or-more assists this season.
• Nkumu is first in the BIG EAST and sixth in the nation with a 3.2 assist-to-turnover ratio.
• The senior is one of 48 players in the nation to average 5-or-more assists per game.
