Following Wednesday's outing, the Golden Eagles return to Fiserv Forum to host Seton Hall on Jan. 27 to concluded the home-and-home series.
Series With DePaul Spans Program History
Marquette's all-time series with DePaul dates back to the 1917-18 season (second year of MU's varsity history) and includes 133 previous meetings, the highest total against any single opponent in team history.
The Golden Eagles own an 83-50 advantage in the series and the extensive series history has been aided by the fact the two programs have been in the same league dating back to the 1991-92 campaign. Since that season, the teams have shared affiliation in the Great Midwest Conference, Conference USA and BIG EAST.
The Golden Eagles swept the home-and-home series in 2022-23 and have won four of the last five contests. The most recent matchup resulted in a 90-84 win by Marquette at Fiserv Forum on Feb. 25, 2023. Guards Tyler Kolek and Kam Jones both scored 22 points in the victory.
In the outing last season at Wintrust Arena, forward David Joplin scored a carer-high 28 points on 10-of-14 shooting from the floor, including an 8-of-11 effort from long distance in 25 minutes off the bench.
Balanced Scoring Helps MU To Win At St. John's
Marquette had all five starters finish with double figures in points in the victory at St. John's, marking the first time all five netted 10-or-more points in the same game since the non-conference finale against St. Thomas on Dec. 14.
Forward Oso Ighodaro led the way with 17 points and guard Tyler Kolek chipped in 15 points.
Marquette has featured five double-digit scorers on three occasions (Southern, St. Thomas, St. John's) in 2023-24.
Marquette Attacks The Paint In Recent Wins
