Golden Eagles Continue Two-Game Road Trip at Providence Saturday
OMAHA, Neb. – The Marquette women's basketball team suffered a road defeat at No. 22 Creighton on Wednesday, 76-71.
The Golden Eagles (16-5, 5-5 BIG EAST) were led by Liza Karlen, who had 29 points and 10 rebounds. It was Karlen's third-straight 20-point game and second-straight double-double.
Mackenzie Hare joined Karlen in double-figures with 17 points and three 3-pointers.
The back-and-forth contest saw eight ties and eight lead changes. Marquette held Creighton without a field goal for the last 5:34 but the home team was 13-of-15 from the line in the final ten minutes.
Creighton (17-3, 8-2 BIG EAST) was led by Morgan Maly who had 21 points on 8-of-14 shooting.
