WBB Returns Home to Host Xavier on Saturday at 2 p.m. CT

The No. 19/20 Marquette women's basketball team returns home from its two-game road trip to host Xavier on Saturday, Jan. 6. Tipoff from the Al McGuire Center is at 2 p.m. CT.

The game broadcast will be broadcast on the BIG EAST Digital Network on FloSports with Bob Brainerd (play-by-play), Michelle Griffin-Wenzel (analyst), and Chloe Marotta '23 (sideline) on the call.

SCOUTING THE MUSKETEERS

• Xavier is coming of an 86-45 loss at Villanova on Dec. 30.

• Xavier committed a season-high 32 turnovers.

• The Musketeers were led by Daniela Lopez, who scored a season-high 12 points with five rebounds.

• Mackayla Scarlett is averaging a team-high 13.4 points per game and has scored in double figures five times this season, including two 20-point outings.

• The Musketeers were picked to finish 11th in the BIG EAST preseason coaches' poll.

ALL-TIME SERIES AGAINST XAVIER

• Saturday's matchup will be the 29th meeting all-time between Marquette and Xavier, with MU leading the series 21-7.

• Golden Eagles have won the last 14 meetings.

• MU won both meetings last season by double-digits.

• Under Megan Duffy, Marquette is 87-23 when outrebounding the opponent.
• The Golden Eagles had a season-high 55 rebounds against Bucknell on Thursday, Dec. 21.
• Frannie Hottinger (5th, 8.3) and Liza Karlen (7th, 7.6) are both top-10 in the BIG EAST in rebounds per game, only team in the conference to have two players in the top-10 in rebounds per game.

HOT SHOOTING GOLDEN EAGLES
• Marquette is second in the BIG EAST and 16th in the nation in shooting percentage (48.7 percent).
• MU has shot 50-percent-or-better in 9-of-14 games this season, the most times shooting 50-percent-or-better in a season in the Megan Duffy era.
• The Golden Eagles shot 50-percent-or-better in the first four games this season (51.7 percent vs UT Martin, 50 percent vs Illinois, 52.2 percent at IUPUI, 57.4 percent vs Saint Peter's) for the first time in the Megan Duffy era.

• Jordan King has 1,605 career points to rank 11th all-time and is 5 points away from passing Christine Kennedy (1991-95) for 10th on the all-time scoring list.
• King is ninth in the nation in active career assists with 533.
• King joins Angel Robinson (2007-2011) as the only two players in program history with 1,500 career points and 500 career assists.
• King has started in all 138 career games played, third all-time at MU in career games played.
