#MUBB Rallies to Beat St. John's 86-75 on National Marquette Day Saturday

Golden Eagles travel to Butler Tuesday night
MILWAUKEE – The No. 7/7 Marquette University men's basketball team rallied back from a nine-point halftime deficit to beat St. John's 86-75 on National Marquette Day Saturday.
The Golden Eagles (18-5, 9-3 BIG EAST) had four in double-figures and were led by Tyler Kolek's 27 points and 13 assists, his fifth double-double of the season.
Stevie Mitchell had 14 points with a pair of 3's, his seventh game in double-figures this season and sixth time in the last 10 games since coming back from injury.
David Joplin (12) and Kam Jones (10) joined Kolek and Mitchell in double-figures. Oso Ighodaro had nine points and nine rebounds.
St. John's (14-10, 6-7 BIG EAST) had three in double-figure and were led by Daniss Jenkins, who had 22 points with four 3's.
NOTABLES:
- Marquette leads the all-time series 28-16 over St. John's, a series dating back to the 1959-60 season.
- Saturday's sellout crowd of 18,095 set a new Marquette Fiserv Forum record and is the third sellout this year for MU.
- Guard Tyler Kolek finished with 13 assists and is now third all-time at Marquette with 630 career assists.
- Kolek's five made 3's tied his career-high.
- Marquette shot over 50 percent from the field for the 12th time this season.
- First time this season MU shot over 50 percent from the field (55.9 percent) and from three (51.9 percent).
- The game saw a total of 11 lead changes and five ties overall.
