Meg Bireley leads all scorers with seven goals
MILWAUKEE – The Marquette women's lacrosse team started its 2024 campaign on Sunday with an 18-12 win over Cincinnati to cap off National Marquette Day weekend.
Junior Meg Bireley had a career-high seven goals on 12 shots. It was her 26th career game with multiple goals in her career.
Tess Osburn tied her career-high with four goals on eight shots, all on goal. The sophomore added an assist for a career-high tying five points.
Hanna Bodner and Leigh Steiner each added two goals apiece. Steiner scored her second of the game on a buzzer beater at the end of the third quarter.
Josie Kropp had a game-high tying six draw controls.
Riley Shultz and CJ Meehan both scored in their Golden Eagles debut.
In defense, Kaitlyn Huber had career-highs in caused turnovers (3), ground balls (2) and draw controls (1). Junior goalie Brynna Nixon earned the win (1-0) and had nine saves.

- Hannah Greving had a career-high four assists, two coming on the second and third goals of the game
- Marquette travels to Louisville, Kentucky for a matchup with the University of Louisville on Friday, Feb. 16. Faceoff is at 11 a.m. CT.
