Golden Eagles Travel to Xavier on Saturday
MILWAUKEE – The Marquette women's basketball team rallied to beat Seton Hall on Tuesday, 68-62, for its 20th win of the season.
Marquette (20-6, 9-6 BIG EAST) had four in double figures led by Liza Karlen, who had her fifth double-double in the last seven games with 23 points and 10 rebounds.
Rose Nkumu had 12 points and nine assists and two steals; one assist of her career high. Mackenzie Hare had 12 points with two triples.
Jordan King had 13 points and 10 rebounds, her first double-double of the season and second of her career.
Seton Hall scored 27 first quarter points which was tied for the most given up this season in the first. The Pirates shot 68.8 percent from the floor in the first ten minutes and 71 percent from deep.
The Golden Eagles flipped the script in the second, outscoring the Pirates 18-9 to cut the deficit to three at half, 36-33. Liza Karlen had 15 first half points including a career-high three 3-pointers. Marquette shot 63.6 percent from the floor in the second quarter.
Marquette lead by as many as 10 points in the second half. Seton Hall tied the game with 4:03 left, 59-59, on a Kae Satterfield basket plus the foul. Marquette would go on a 9-3 run the rest of the way to win by six. Karlen and King combined for MU's last nine points.
Seton Hall (15-12, 7-9 BIG EAST) was led by Azana Baines, who had 19 points on 6-of-18 shooting.

- The Golden Eagles have taken four out of the last six over Seton Hall.
- Marquette remains undefeated against Seton Hall all-time at home (14-0).
- The Golden Eagles were down by 18 at one point, tying the largest deficit in a victory this season. MU was down by 18 at Providence and won 66-62.
- Jordan King moved into second all-time in career games played at Marquette. The senior has started in all 150 career games played and passed Chloe Marotta who played in 149 career games from 2018-23.
- King moved into a tie for ninth on the all-time 3's list with 155 career 3's.
- Mackenzie Hare broke the record for 3's made by a sophomore, hitting 76 so far this season. Natisha Hiedeman made 75 during the 2016-17 season.
- Rose Nkumu had nine assists, her 14th game of the season with 5-or-more assists. Nkumu is 10th in the nation in assist-to-turnover ratio.
