Golden Eagles have won last 15 games over the Musketeers
MILWAUKEE – The Marquette women's basketball team travels to Cincinnati for a matchup at Xavier on Saturday. Tipoff from Cintas Center is at 1 p.m. CT.
Saturday's contest will be broadcast on the BIG EAST Digital Network on FloSports with Mike Schmaltz (play-by-play) or Rich Hoyt (analyst) on the call.
STARTING FIVE
• In her fifth season at the helm of Marquette women's basketball, Coach Duffy has the best winning percentage of any coach in MU history, going 107-43 (.713) overall and 62-29 (.681) in BIG EAST play.
• MU is one of 14 schools to have two players on Naismith Starting 5 awards Top 10 lists (Jordan King & Liza Karlen).
• Rose Nkumu is 11th in the nation with a 2.85 assist-to-turnover ratio.
• Liza Karlen has five double-doubles in the last seven games.
• Mackenzie Hare is ninth in the nation in 3-point percentage (44.4) and 11th in 3's made (76).

• Head coach Billi Chambers is in her first season with Xavier.
• Graduate student Nila Blackford is fourth in the conference in rebounding at 8.4 boards a game.
• Senior Mackayla Scarlett is 14th in the BIG EAST in scoring at 13.9 points per game.
• The Musketeers were picked to finish 11th in the BIG EAST preseason coaches' poll.
ALL-TIME SERIES AGAINST XAVIER
• Tuesday will be the 30th meeting between Marquette and Xavier.
• The Golden Eagles lead the series, 22-7, and have taken the last 15 over the Musketeers.
• Marquette's 15-game winning streak is the longest active win streak against a BIG EAST opponent.
FIRST MEETING THIS SEASON
• Marquette beat Xavier 81-52 on Saturday, Jan. 6, 2024.
• It was Megan Duffy's 100th career win at Marquette.
• MU had four in double-figures led by Mackenzie Hare, who had 19 points and four 3's along with three assists, three rebounds, and three steals.
• Marquette led by as many as 32 in the second half and forced a season-high 28 turnovers. Five Golden Eagles had at least two steals as MU had a season-high 14 for the game.
• Xavier scored the first eight points of the game in the first 1:52 that forced an early MU timeout. Marquette would close the half on a 35-7 run and led by as many as 32 in the second half.
COMEBACK KIDS
• The Golden Eagles have come back to win from being down 18 twice in February.
• Marquette was down 20-2 at Providence on Feb. 3 and went on to win 66-62.
• MU was down 33-15 against Seton Hall this past Tuesday and rallied to win 68-62.
