Golden Eagles won last year’s matchup on the road
MILWAUKEE - The Marquette University women's lacrosse team hosts Eastern Michigan on Sunday, March 17. Faceoff from Valley Fields is at noon CT and the game will be broadcast on FloSports.
It will be the second meeting all-time between Marquette and Eastern Michigan. The Golden Eagles won the first contest last season, 18-5, at EMU on March 24, 2023.
LEIGH ON BIG EAST WEEKLY HONOR ROLL
• Leigh Steiner was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Monday, March 11.
• The senior midfielder scored two goals and had career-highs in draw controls (7) and caused turnovers (3) against No. 19 Colorado on Friday, March 8.
BIRELEY SCORES EIGHT
• Meg Bireley scored eight goals at Ohio State on Thursday, March 12.
• Eight goals set a new career-high for the junior attacker and tied the program's single game record for goals in a game.
DRAW DOMINATION
• Marquette is first in the BIG EAST and sixth in the nation in draw controls per game (17.43).
• The Golden Eagles have 20-or-more draw controls in three of the last four games.
JOSIE BIG EAST LEADER
• Josie Kropp is first in the BIG EAST and 12th in the nation at 7.63 draw controls per game.
• The junior had a single game record tying 17 draw controls at Detroit Mercy on Wednesday, Feb. 28.
