Meg Bireley leads all scorers with five goals
MILWAUKEE – The Marquette University women's lacrosse team dominated Eastern Michigan on Sunday, 15-4.
The Golden Eagles (3-6, 0-0 BIG EAST) were led by Meg Bireley, who had 5 goals on a career-high 15 shots. Leigh Steiner tied her career-high with four goals.
Marquette tied its season-high with 12 caused turnovers and were led in defense by senior captain Faith Chmielewski, who had a career-high four caused turnovers.
The Golden Eagles had a season-high 47 shots, two away from the program record for shots in a game. MU dominated the draw, winning 18-out-of-23 draw controls. Josie Kropp had 13, her third game this season with 10-or-more draw controls.
Eastern Michigan (3-4, 0-0 MAC) was led by Mackenzie Blackwell, who had three goals. The Eagles were held scoreless in the final 30 minutes of play.
