AWENDAW, South Carolina – The Marquette University men's golf team concluded the third and final round of the Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate in Awendaw, South Carolina on Tuesday afternoon.
Junior Max Lyons led the Golden Eagles in the final round with an even-par 72 and tied for 34th overall in the event with a 54-hole score of a 3-over 219. Lyons began his round with a birdie on the par-5 10th hole and closed with three consecutive birdies on holes 5-7 for his 14th par-or-better round this season.
True freshman Mason Schmidtke rebounded from a pair of rough rounds on Sunday and Monday with a 1-over 73 on Tuesday with three birdies.Â
The Golden Eagles shot a 6-over 294 on Sunday, led by a 2-under 70 from graduate student Aidan Lafferty, who recorded three birdies on the back nine for his eighth round under par this season. MU was seventh heading into Monday's second round before posting a 15-over 303 and notched a 7-over 295 on Tuesday.
