Golden Eagles tied for fifth heading into final round Monday

WEST LAFAYETTE, Indiana – Marquette University men's golf is tied for fifth after 36 holes at the Purdue Fall Invitational.
The Golden Eagles shot a 12-over 300 Sunday morning and followed that up by firing a 4-under 284 in the afternoon to move up four spots on the team leaderboard. The Golden Eagles went 10-under on the par 5s on day one and are third in the field with 32 birdies.
Patrick Adler is 1-under (72-71--143) and tied for 11th on the individual leaderboard. The senior was one of four players in the field to shoot par-or-better in both rounds Sunday.
Johan Widal fired a 1-under 71 in the afternoon to move into the top 20 overall at +1 (74-71--145). Max Lyons, who is third in the field in birdies with nine, went 75-71--146 and is tied for 22nd at +2.
Indiana went 11-under on day one and leads by two strokes over Miami (Ohio). Purdue's Sam Easterbrook is on top of the individual leaderboard after going 7-under through two rounds (69-68--137). Â
Monday's final round will begin at 8:30 a.m. Central Time. The Golden Eagles are paired with Iowa and Illinois State for the final 18 holes.
