MSOC Earns 0-0 Draw vs. Purdue Fort Wayne, Thursday Afternoon

Golden Eagles back in action at No. 9 Northwestern Monday evening
MILWAUKEE - The Marquette University men's soccer team (3-1-1, 0-0-0 BIG EAST) took a 0-0 draw against Purdue Fort Wayne (1-2-1, 0-0-0 Horizon) Thursday afternoon at Valley Fields.

The first half was highlighted by freshman goalkeeper Marten Brink's four saves.
Â
Gabriel Rokov was called for a penalty in the box resulting in a pk for the Mastodons, which Brink notched a huge save and Tim Smith cleared the rebound saving a goal against MU.

Marquette put up four shots against PFW and had one corner kick.
Â
"Disappointed with the result, Purdue Fort Wayne did a good job making the match tough." head coach David Korn said. "Proud of the resiliency of our group, but we need to do a better job being disciplined and being more clinical like we know we can be moving forward." Â

In the second half, Purdue Fort Wayne thought they got on board, but it was overturned after VAR due to an offside violation.

The momentum switch led Marquette to post 8 shots throughout the half but were unable to find the back of the net.
