Weise picks up lone singles victory for MU
CHICAGO, Ill. - The Marquette University women's tennis team fell 5-2 against UIC Friday afternoon at the XS Tennis Village.
The Golden Eagles opened the match by taking the doubles point with wins at no. 1 and 2.
"We came out and played an excellent doubles point in all 3 positions," director of tennis Jud Shaufler said. "Andie Weise did a good job winning her singles. Unfortunately we just didn't get enough to get the team win. We are learning some things hopefully that will benefit us in the near future."
Weise picked up the lone victory for Marquette at the number two position with a tie break win (7-6, 3-6, 10-9).
UIC went on to pick up five singles wins to take the team decision
UP NEXT: The Golden Eagles will play their first home match in the brand new Sprovieri Tennis Complex against Providence on Jan. 25 at 11:00am CT.
