Marquette Set for Rivalry Matchup at DePaul

The Marquette University volleyball team will look to bounce back from a two-match skid with a midweek rivalry matchup at DePaul (12-9, 5-5 BIG EAST). The match is set for a 7:00 p.m. CT first serve this Wednesday, Oct. 29, at McGrath-Phillips Arena in Chicago, Ill.

LAST TIME OUT

The Golden Eagles went 0-2 last weekend on their final East Coast road trip of the season, dropping two straight BIG EAST contests for just the first time since the 2015 season. The Golden Eagles fell in five at Georgetown on Friday (Oct. 24), and lost a four-set match at Villanova on Saturday (Oct. 25).
Natalie Ring paced Marquette over the weekend with 47 kills across two matches, including 26 on .429 hitting at Georgetown and 21 on .354 hitting at Villanova. Hattie Bray added 20 kills and 12 blocks, and Adriana Studer led the defense with 22 digs and two aces.

HISTORY vs. OPPONENTS

The Golden Eagles and Blue Demons will face off for the 76th time in a historic rivalry matchup that dates back to 1982.
Marquette holds a 46-29 advantage in the all-time series, and swept DePaul earlier this season on Oct. 5 at the Al McGuire Center.

RING LEADER

Outside hitter Natalie Ring has put on a dominant performance this season leading MU in kills with 343, which leads all hitters in the BIG EAST and ranks 21st in the NCAA. Her 4.57 kills/set also leads the conference and ranks 18th nationally, and her 5.20 points/set is first in the BIG EAST and 14th in the NCAA.

Marquette is hitting .246 to rank 5th in the BIG EAST and 70th nationally, while averaging 12.97 kills per set to rank 4th in the conference.
The Golden Eagles also rank 4th in the BIG EAST in assists (11.84/set) and 4th in blocks (2.38/set) while holding opponents to a .210 hitting percentage, which ranks 4th in the league and 178th nationally.
Hattie Bray ranks 2nd in the BIG EAST and 123rd nationally with 1.13 blocks per set, and is 5th in the conference and 89th nationally in hitting percentage at .352.
Isabela Haggard ranks 2nd in the BIG EAST and 79th nationally with 9.32 assists per set, and sits 6th in the conference and 91st nationally with 690 total assists.
Adriana Studer ranks 7th in the BIG EAST and 178th nationally with 271 total digs (2.9 per set).
Marquette has posted 10 or more team blocks in four of its last six matches, including 17 at St. John's and 14 at Georgetown.
