Three Marquette attackers hit double figures as Marquette defeats DePaul
CHICAGO, Ill. - The Marquette University women's volleyball team (13-8, 7-4 BIG EAST) earned a hard-fought four set victory at DePaul (12-10, 5-6 BIG EAST) Wednesday evening in the Windy City.  Â
Marquette was led offensively by Natalie Ring with 17 kills and Hattie Bray, who hit .421 with 11 kills and five blocks. Setter Isabela Haggard distributed the offense effectively with 36 assists and added 22 digs, while Elena Radeff contributed across multiple categories including three blocks and five digs. Â
Marquette battled through a tight opening set, closing on a 3-0 run to pull ahead late behind strong play from Haggard, who guided a balanced attack. A kill from Bray sealed the frame after a DePaul attack error gave Marquette set point, taking the opener, 25-23.Â
DePaul evened the match after using an early 9-3 run to build momentum and hold off a late Marquette rally led by Ring and Bray. The Golden Eagles pulled within one late, but the Blue Demons closed out the frame to take the second set, 25-23.Â
Marquette then responded in dominant fashion, jumping out to an early lead and never looking back in the third set. Behind strong serving from Radeff and efficient offense from Ring and Bray, the Golden Eagles built a double-digit advantage midway through. A service ace from Bray capped the frame as Marquette cruised to take the set, 25-12.Â
The Golden Eagles closed out the match with a commanding fourth set, using an 11-0 finishing scoring run to pull away late and maintain control throughout. Marquette used strong contributions from Haggard and Parks, who combined for efficient attacks and timely serving. Haggard capped the frame with a service ace as Marquette dominated to take the set, 25-18, and the match in four sets.Â
