MILWAUKEE – Carsen Brandt and Noah Snyder each posted hat tricks for the Marquette University men's lacrosse team in a 15-7 win over Cleveland State on Saturday afternoon at Valley Fields.
Senior attackman Noalan Rappis notched a game-high six points for the Golden Eagles (2-2) on four assists and a pair of goals, while Brandt and Snyder each had two assists for five total points. MU goalie Lucas Lawas recorded nine saves in net and redshirt freshman faceoff specialist Chandler Caster won 9-of-14 faceoffs with six ground balls.
Brandt and Rappis scored the game's first two goals to put MU up 2-0 before the Vikings (1-3) closed the opening quarter with the final three tallies. The Golden Eagles went into the half with a 6-4 lead and led 10-7 after the first two goals of Snyder's career in the final 1:34 of the third quarter.
Marquette held a 56-24 edge in shots on the day and forced Cleveland State into 18 turnovers, including six in the clear.
Wyatt Robertson's hat trick led the Vikings.

- MU senior attackman Bobby O'Grady scored twice and now has 144 career points. He's six points behind Ryan McNamara's program record of 152.
- Rappis is MU's point leader this season with 18 through four games.
- MU held CSU goal leader Xander Johnson to just one goal. Johnson scored eight times in Wednesday's win over Bellarmine.
- Brandt posted his second hat trick in as many games and the fourth of his career.
- Snyder's five points are the most for an MU freshman since Brandt had six (3-3-6) in MU's 2024 home opener against Lindenwood.
- Marquette is 3-1 all-time in four meetings against CSU, the last of which was a 10-5 win inside the dome at Valley Fields on March 27, 2021.
