Golden Eagles and Bulldogs meet for ninth time
Marquette University women's lacrosse opens BIG EAST play on Saturday, March 22 at Butler at 11 a.m. CT. The game will be broadcast on FloCollege.
Marquette leads the all-time series 8-0, with the first meeting coming in 2017. MU won last year's meeting in Milwaukee, 20-12.
The Golden Eagles are coming off a 24-10 win over Detroit Mercy on Sunday. Senior attacker Meg Bireley scored five goals and had a career-high four assists to become Marquette University women's lacrosse all-time points leader.Bireley also tied the program record for all-time goals with 175 for her career with Grace Gabriel (2016-19).
Brynna Nixon earned her fourth win of the season and 25th win of her career, passing Jules Horning for the most wins in program history.
Hanna Bodner had a career-high five goals while Tess Osburn (tied career-high) and Campbell Brown (career-high) had four goals each. Lorelai VanGuilder had a career-high nine draw controls, helping Marquette to 29 total to set a new program record for draw controls in a game.
Following Sunday's game, MU hosts Arizona State on Tuesday, March 25 at noon CT.
